Use the right soapĀ
Your intuition might tell you that regular old dish or hand soap can just be squirted into a bucket and mixed with water and youāve got yourself a car-washing substance. Your intuition would be dead wrong. Using hand or dish soap on your car can strip the wax and dull the finish. Use vehicle-specific soap unless you want to intentionally remove the wax to apply a new coat.Ā

Get a microfiber towelĀ
Donāt just let your car air dry and donāt dry it off with a regular towel. Household towels are made of cotton or polyester and are too abrasive to safely dry a car. A microfiber towel is muchĀ softerĀ and it wonāt damage your paint or wax.Ā
Donāt wash in direct sunlightĀ
Maybe this sounds silly, but itās true. We recommend washing your car on a partly cloudy or overcast day. Itās best to have your car wet until itās ready to be dried. Sun-drying can lead to streaks and spots. Wash your car in the shade or wait until the sun hides behind some big cumulonimbus clouds for a while.Ā
